Are your English teaching resources matched to the English National Curriculum?
Yes, all our English teaching resources are designed to align with the English National Curriculum objectives from Year 1 to Year 6. We carefully map out objective coverage, and knowledge and skills progression, for each of our schemes of work. Can I teach these lessons in a mixed-age class?
Many of our English schemes are designed to be taught in mixed-age classes, making them perfect if you’re teaching a class covering multiple year groups. However, any of our schemes of work can be adapted to the needs of your class thanks to the range of differentiated activities available as standard within each lesson. With scaffolded activities as well as extension tasks, it’s easy to match activities to the needs of different learners.
What’s included in a typical English unit?
Each English scheme of work comes fully prepared and ready to teach. Our standard English units contain between five and seven lessons, with each lesson containing an easy-to-follow lesson plan, engaging slides for the whole-class teaching input and a range of activity ideas and printable resources to support children’s independent learning tasks.
Each unit also comes with an overview (a medium-term plan) so that you can see at a glance what is covered within the scheme of work, as well as an editable assessment grid to track learning.
Do you offer assessments with your primary English resources?
Each of our English lesson packs comes with an editable assessment grid, which is linked to the three assessment questions listed on the lesson plan. This allows you to track learning across the scheme of work in whichever way works best for you.
