In this Indian Paintings KS2 Art lesson, your Year 3 or Year 4 class will have the chance to explore lots of different styles on Indian paintings. They will explore examples of Mughal, Rajput, Mysore, Tanjore, Kangra, Madhubani and Pattachitra artwork, discussing the colours and patterns used in each style as they do so.

During their independent art time, they can then either work together to create a mural in the Madhubani style, or use viewfinders to sketch different sections of a variety of Indian paintings.

Whichever activity you choose, this lesson pack comes with all the resources you need to deliver this lesson (lesson plan, slideshow and printable resources), leaving you free to enjoy learning about Indian paintings with your class...without having to spend hours planning!
