How do I log in?
Just click 'Log In' up in the top right hand corner of the web page. See it? ☝︎☝︎☝︎
I've forgotten my username/password/both!! What do I do?
It's a bit tricky if you've forgotten both! Don't worry – we ask that you enter your email address as a username when you sign up. Click here to enter your email address and we'll send you a link to reset your password. If you haven't received an email after a few minutes, perhaps you signed up with an alternate email address? Keep trying, using your other email addresses. If all this fails, you can contact us here.
I've signed up to the newsletter, but I didn't get £5 off my off my first order.
Thank you for signing up! After you signed up you would have received an email confirming your account, but another separate email titled '£5 off your first order'. This email is sent by a different mail server, so may have been filtered into your junk/ spam mailbox. Please check your junk/spam folder and add email@example.com to your 'safe sender' list or address book otherwise you may miss our future discounts! If you still cannot find it, let us know.
My school/ staff log in has not worked since you changed your site!
For increased security we have had to get rid of staff log ins for schools. Sorry! Don't worry, everything is still pretty much the same; you can still access your files and make orders like you used to, and you can still have your school invoiced. You just log in with your account administrator's email and password instead, choosing payment via BACS/ cheque upon check out to invoice your school. Speak to your registered PlanBee account holder to access the information, or if you're still lost - contact us!
Why do I have to create an account to buy PlanBee resources?
Your account is where all your downloads are stored so you can easily re-download them — or get the latest, updated version — at any time. You can also choose to subscribe to receive discounts via our newsletter. It takes seconds to create an account! We take only your name, email address, password and billing address – that's it!
How do I subscribe?
There are no subscription plans for PlanBee. You pay once for the resource you need, and the file is yours to keep and re-download as often as you need.
Why don’t you offer a subscription plan?
Our customers tell us they love the simplicity of the service; you buy a teaching pack and it's yours to keep and re-download at any time. Easy! To offer schools and individuals wishing to purchase entire curricula (such as our Complete KS1 & KS2 Science curriculum) even better value, in 2015 we introduced Bulk Purchases, with savings of 10-13% compared to buying the included products separately.
How much does it cost?
Good news! It's free to create an account, and it only takes a few seconds. Once you're signed up, there's no obligation to spend any money at all. In fact, there's a great selection of completely free resources in our FreeBees section! Here's a breakdown of what PlanBee's other resources cost:
Individual Lessons ~ £2.99
These include one lesson plan, a slide show presentation, activity ideas and, usually, a range of printable resources
Complete Series ~ £10.00 - £14.50
These are complete schemes of work, typically including 5-7 Individual Lessons. That's half a term's teaching!
Cross-curricular Topics ~ £38.50 - £42.50
These typically include 16-18 Individual Lessons across a range of subjects
Bulk Purchases ~ from £59.00
Bulks are perfect for subject leaders - get complete KS1 and KS2 curriculums for each subject, comprising specially selected PlanBee resources picked from our back catalogue. That’s a year's teaching for Year 1-6!
How do I pay?
All PlanBee members can pay with a debit/credit card or with a PayPal account. School Account holders have the additional options of paying by bank transfer or cheque.
Can I pay over the phone?
Unfortunately, PlanBee don’t take payments over the phone! If you have an Individual Account you pay directly online using your debit/credit card or PayPal account. If you have a School Account, you have the additional options of paying by bank transfer or cheque once we've emailed you an invoice.
How does it work?
After you've created an account, log in and start buying! When you buy an Individual Lesson/Complete Series/Cross-curricular Topic, you get an instantly downloadable resource that you can access from your account area as soon as you checkout! There's a download button next to each of your resources in the 'My Downloads' area of your PlanBee account.
When you click, a ZIP file will download immediately. Opening the file should automatically 'unzip' it.
When you download and 'unzip' your resource, you'll usually see a folder for each lesson that came with the product you bought. Each folder will typically contain the following:
Ancient Egypt Plan1.pdf ~ The Lesson Plan
Ancient Egypt Slide1.pdf ~ The slideshow presentation
Ancient Egypt Work1.pdf ~ The various printable worksheets, activity cards, etc.
Readme.txt ~ Our standard terms and conditions. Probably boring for you, but very
important for us!
All Individual Lessons include:
•A plan with a list of resources, a teaching input, activity ideas, a suggested plenary and some assessment questions
•A slideshow presentation (the plan talks you through using this during your teaching input)
•Typically, a range of printable resources (some D.T. and Art lessons, where the focus is on making stuff that children have designed during previous lessons, don't include printable stuff)
Complete Series of 5-7 lessons include all of the above for each lesson.
What software do I need to use PlanBee resources? What format are the files?
All PlanBee lesson plans, slideshow presentations and printable resources come as PDFs bundled in the easily-downloaded ZIP format. You shouldn't need any special software to 'unzip' these; just double-click on them to access the contents*.
Once you've 'unzipped' your download, you'll find all of the lesson plans, slides and other resources, all in the PDF format. We highly recommend downloading the completely free Adobe Reader to view PlanBee resources. The nice thing about Adobe Reader is that it lets you annotate on top of the plans, slides and printable with its included annotation tools! Having said that, if you're using a PC with Windows 7 or later, or an Apple Mac with OS X 10.7 or later, you should be able to open and view these files without installing additional software*.

Can I edit the resources?
No… and yes! All PlanBee resources are in the PDF format, which means they can't be directly edited in the same way you can with a Microsoft Word document, for example. There's two reasons for this:
•PDF files can always be viewed correctly by anyone, on any device, regardless of what brand of word processing software they have.
•The PDF format offers a degree of protection. Our content, like that of any content producer, is copyrighted.
That's not to say you can't change and adapt PlanBee resources to suit your needs and those of your children:
•Text and images can be copied and pasted
•You can annotate on top of any PDF file if you're using Adobe Reader to view them
•Using your interactive whiteboard software in 'overlay' mode allows you to use all of the drawing and writing tools on top of any PDF file you're viewing

What's the difference between an Individual Account and a School Account?
Individual Accounts can be created in seconds, and you can purchase straight away. They're ideal for most teachers, as you can quickly create an account, add resources to your basket, then pay for them using either a credit/debit card or PayPal. Once you've paid, you can download your resources from your PlanBee account.
School Accounts are different. They take a little longer to set up, as we require email confirmation from your bursar or business manager that the account has been authorised. We usually get everything set up within 24–48 hours. Once your School Account has been created, your nominated PlanBee account holder will receive a welcome email with log in details. Resources can be added to your account and downloaded immediately. You can pay immediately using a debit/credit card or PayPal — just like Individual Account holders — or choose to be invoiced by us, then pay by bank transfer or cheque within 30 days. Invoices are automatically sent to the email address provided as soon as orders are completed*. Whichever payment method School Account holders choose, their resources can be downloaded immediately after checkout.
*Can't find the email? Don't worry, you can also view, download and print your order information from your PlanBee account at any time.
Which type of account is best for me?
In most cases, an Individual Account is ideal. You can sign up in seconds, and make purchases pretty much as you would on any other website. School Accounts are great if you work at a lovely school that's agreed to pay for resources! They take a bit longer to set up (around 24-48 hours), but your school's headteacher/bursar/business manager can purchase what's needed really quickly using a credit/debit card, PayPal, or alternatively, pay by BACs bank transfer or cheque within 30 days.
I've been waiting for ages! Where are my resources?
ALL PlanBee resources are downloadable! We NEVER send anything by post – we couldn't if we wanted to, as we don't make physical copies of PlanBee products, nor do we take details of shipping addresses from our customers. To access your purchased resources, log in to your PlanBee account – you'll find all your purchases there, ready to download!
Where are my downloads?
They're in your PlanBee account! If you haven't already, log in. You can log in from anywhere on planbee.com – just click on 'Log In' on the top right ☝︎. Enter the email address you provided when you created an account, and your password. You'll be taken straight to your account dashboard. Click 'My Downloads' on the left. Tada! All your downloads are listed here. Click on the yellow download buttons next to their titles to download them directly.
Where can I find receipts for my purchases?
They're in your PlanBee account! If you haven't already, log in. You can login from anywhere on planbee.com – just click on 'Log In' on the top right ☝︎. Enter the email address you provided when you created an account, and your password. You'll be taken straight to your account dashboard. Click 'My Orders' on the left. Here, you can view and print information about your orders.
I've changed my email address/name/moved house. How do I change my details?
You can manage all of your personal details in your PlanBee account. If you haven't already, log in. You can login from anywhere on planbee.com – just click on 'Log In' on the top right ☝︎. Enter the email address you provided when you created an account, and your password. You'll be taken straight to your account dashboard. Click 'Account Information' (on the left) to change your name, email address or password. Click 'My Addresses' (on the left) to change your billing address*.
*Please be aware that this address is purely for generating your invoices/receipts/order information. It's not a shipping address – we NEVER send any resources by post! All PlanBee resources are downloadable.
Do you do discounts?
Yes! All of our Bulk Purchases are discounted, with savings of 10-25% (compared to the cost of buying the included resources separately). Periodically, we also do special offers; promo codes which can be applied to your order at the checkout. I've found a mistake in a resource. What will you do about it?
We're so sorry – every PlanBee resource is proofread, however, mistakes are missed from time to time. If you find one, please do contact us to let us know straight away. We aim to correct errors and release updated, corrected versions of resources for you to re-download within 24 working hours. We'll contact you to let you know as soon as we've corrected the error you found.
I have an idea for a resource! Wanna hear it?

Can I work at PlanBee?
That’s great that you'd like to! We are still a small, but steadily growing company. Please keep an eye on our Facebook and Twitter feeds, as this is the first place we advertise vacancies. Lots of people ask if it's possible to work remotely for PlanBee – unfortunately, it's not! We've found that it's really important to be together when planning – that's why everyone who works for PlanBee comes to our Surrey offices. It's invaluable to have other teachers with you to bounce ideas around with!
Some of my previous purchases are missing!
Firstly, double-check the items were successfully purchased. You should always receive a confirmation email from us confirming your purchase. If not, it’s possible the order did not go though, so please try again!
If you did receive a confirmation email, double-check you are in the correct account. We often find that users have created more than one PlanBee account, using different email addresses! Try logging in with a different email address. If you are still having trouble, contact us.
I've bought the wrong thing! It's not what I wanted! What can I do?
Don't worry – we understand that these things happen. The very first thing you should do if you're in this situation is contact us. We nearly always get back to everyone within 24 hours (or less if we get a message during business hours), and in many cases we can help rectify these situations! Double-check before you complete your purchase that you've got the right thing, and double-check again before you download your purchased product. If you've not downloaded a product you purchased in error (or don't require), you're far more likely to be eligible to have your product replaced with something more suitable.
I’ve opened the wrong account! Can I swap to a School/Individual Account?
Yes you can! Just drop us a message and we'll get that sorted for you.
When I ‘unzip’ the file, it doesn’t work and/or looks wrong.
Every now and then files do get corrupted. It’s just one of those things! Re-download a fresh copy of the file from your PlanBee account. If you are still having issues, get in touch so we can assist.
My downloads are encrypted (green) files/folders - they won't open!
There's a known issue with zip files made on an Apple Mac, when viewed using certain versions of Windows. Don't worry – there are solutions! You can find out more about this issue, and how to resolve it, here: https://goo.gl/W8dLuQ (If you encounter this issue, we'd recommend sharing this document with your school's technical person/network administrator, too.)
It won’t download! It won’t open! It’s all going wrong!
Oh dear! Sometimes computers just don’t play ball no matter what! As each person’s device is different, it’s hard for us to know what has gone wrong. As a rule, try the following:
Ensure that your computer is fully up-to-date with the latest versions of software. Sometimes, if they are too old they cannot cope with newer resources.
Install Adobe Reader: it’s the best way to view PlanBee PDFs. You can download it for free here: https://get.adobe.com/uk/reader/
When you purchase PlanBee resources, they are available to download immediately from your PlanBee account. The files are downloaded as 'zip' files (compressed folders containing other files). These zip files need to be extracted so that the resources can be opened and viewed correctly. Most computers will do this automatically for you; Windows 8 users may find the instructions below of use:
How to extract zip files in Windows 8:
1. Open File Explorer and select the file or folder you need to decompress.
2. Under the Compressed Folder Tools tab, click Extract tab.
3. Click Extract All, then choose the location where you wish to extract the files.
Alternatively, you can extract individual files or folders, by opening the compressed folder and then drag the files or folders you want to extract to a new location.
I’m a bursar/ business manager and I’ve just opened a school account, but I don’t want teachers to make unauthorised purchases. What should I do?
We highly recommend only giving the log in details to authorised personnel. If you don't want teachers to go crazy on PlanBee (as much as we would love that!), please ask staff to make their orders through you. Once you have made the purchase you can download the files to your school’s intranet for staff to access, or email them the files directly.
Can I get an invoice for my purchase?
Of course! School Accounts holders who choose to pay by cheque or bank transfer receive an invoice immediately after each purchase. VAT breakdowns are shown at the checkout, on invoices and on the order information in your PlanBee account area. Payment terms are 30 days.
I can’t pay an invoice unless there is a Purchase Order number.
You can add any reference information you need such as a PO number at the checkout.
Where can I send my order?
Please do not send us anything! You can order everything you need online, so there is no need to send us a PO or order form.
