Trouble viewing the site? 

We sometimes need to make updates to our site, which may means that may not display correctly on your device. To view the most up-to-date version of the site, please do a ‘hard refresh’ of your browser window or tab:

On PCs (Windows): EITHER hold the Ctrl key and click the reload button near the top of the browser window/tab; OR press Ctrl + F5.

On Macs: EITHER hold the cmd key and click the reload button near the top of your browser window/tab; OR press cmd + shift + r.

Note that doing a ‘hard refresh’ may fix a number of browsing display issues for or any other website. If this doesn’t fix things for you, you may need to clear your browser’s cache and history. The method for this varies, depending on your device, operating system and browser. If you’re unsure how to do this, refer to your browser’s help documentation.

What is PlanBee? Who are you?

Glad you asked! In short, we're qualified teachers who make high quality, downloadable teaching resources for primary teachers. We believe that teacher’s deserve a better work-life balance, so we make time-saving prepared planning with (almost) everything you need to teach it included. How do I log in?

I've forgotten my username/password/both!! What do I do?

We ask that you enter your email address as a username when you sign up. Click here to enter your email and get a link to reset your password. If you haven't received an email after a few minutes, perhaps you signed up with an alternate email address? If you're still having problems, contact us here.

I tried to reset my password, but I haven't received the email with the link.

Check your spam/junk folder. Add to your address book/whitelist and try again. If you still cannot find the email, contact us and we'll be happy to help.

How much does it cost?

Good news! You can join PlanBee for free with a ‘Pay As You Go’ membership and access hundreds of free resources, sample lessons and mini-schemes of work. We also have thousands of time-saving, high-quality teaching resources – including individual lesson packs, complete units of work, cross-curricular topic planning packs, and HUGE curriculum packs for the whole year group or school. NOTE that premium memberships DO NOT automatically renew, meaning you won't get stuck with a recurring annual payment. You just pay for one year's Bronze, Silver or Gold membership which returns to a regular Pay As You Go account at the end of the 12-month period. You can choose to buy a membership upgrade again after that, or just leave it as it is!

Do I need an account?

If you wish to download any free or premium resources, then yes. Your PlanBee account is where all your downloads are stored so you can easily re-download them — or get the latest, updated version — at any time. Become a Member.

What kind of membership is best for me?

That depends on what you need! You can access hundreds of free teaching resources, sample lessons and mini-schemes of work with a free Pay As You Go membership. However, if you intend to buy one or more Complete Series (that’s what we call our complete schemes/units of work) or one of our even bigger prepared planning packs, you’ll definitely benefit from buying a 12-month Bronze, Silver or Gold PlanBee membership. We also now offer the option of a Platinum membership which gives you and your school unlimited access to the PlanBee library for a whole year. How do I pay?

All PlanBee members can pay with a debit/credit card or with a PayPal account. School Trade Account holders have the additional payment option 'Invoice My School', payable by bank transfer or cheque.

Can I pay over the phone?

No. If you’re having trouble paying for any reason, please chat with us now or send us a message.

How does it work?

Choose what you want and add it to your basket! Once you've completed your order, you'll get access to your downloadable resources straight away. These can be re-downloaded at any time from your PlanBee Account Dashboard.

When you download and 'unzip' your resources, you'll see a folder for each lesson that came with the product you bought. Each folder typically contains the following:

Ancient Egypt Plan1.pdf ~ The lesson plan

Ancient Egypt Slide1.pdf ~ The slideshow presentation

Ancient Egypt Work1.pdf ~ The various printable worksheets, activity cards, etc.

Readme.txt ~ Our standard terms and conditions. Probably boring for you, but very important for us!

All Individual Lessons include:

A plan with a list of resources, a teaching input, differentiated activity ideas, a suggested plenary and some assessment questions

A slideshow presentation (the plan talks you through using this during your teaching input)

Typically, a range of printable resources (a few D.T. and Art lessons, where the focus is on making products that children have designed during previous lessons, don't include printable resources)

Complete Series of 5-7 lessons include all of the above for each lesson.

What software do I need to use PlanBee resources? What format are the files?

Nearly all PlanBee resources come as PDFs bundled in the easily-downloaded ZIP format. You shouldn't need any special software to 'unzip' these; just double-click on them to access the contents*.

Once you've 'unzipped' your download, you'll find lesson plans, slides and other resources, all in the PDF format. We highly recommend downloading the completely free Adobe Reader to view PlanBee resources – although newer operating systems and devices should display PlanBee resources just fine!

Can I edit the resources?

No… and yes! All PlanBee resources are in the PDF format, which means they can't be directly edited in the same way you can with a Microsoft Word document, for example. There's two reasons for this:

PDF files can always be viewed correctly by anyone, on any device, regardless of what brand of word processing software they have.

The PDF format offers a degree of protection. Our content, like that of any content producer, is copyrighted.

That's not to say you can't change and adapt PlanBee resources to suit your needs and those of your children:

Text and images can be copied and pasted

You can annotate on top of any PDF file if you're using Adobe Reader to view them

Using your interactive whiteboard software in 'overlay' mode allows you to use all of the drawing and writing tools on top of any PDF file you're viewing

What's a PlanBee School Trade account?

School Trade account members have the additional payment option ‘Invoice My School’, meaning they can pay by bank transfer or cheque. If you are a school bursar, business manager or headteacher you can apply to upgrade to a School Trade account either when you create your account, when you are at the checkout, or by contacting us directly. It typically takes up to 48 hours to upgrade a Standard account to a School Trade account (although it's often much quicker), as we do a couple of additional checks and ask for some extra information. Once your account has been upgraded to a School Trade account, the additional payment option ‘Invoice My School’ will appear at the checkout. A field where you have the option to enter a PO/reference number will appear, too. You can still pay immediately using a debit/credit card or PayPal — just like standard account holders — or choose to be invoiced by us, then pay by bank transfer or cheque within 30 days. Invoices are emailed within seven days of your order being placed, however you can download the the resources you have ordered immediately.

I've been waiting for ages! Where are my resources?

ALL PlanBee resources are downloadable! We NEVER send anything by post – we couldn't if we wanted to, as we don't make physical copies of PlanBee products, nor do we take details of shipping addresses from our customers. To access your purchased resources, log in to your PlanBee account – you'll find all your purchases there, ready to download!

Where are my downloads?

They're in your PlanBee account! If you haven't already, log in. You can log in from anywhere on – just click on 'Log In' on the top right ☝︎. Enter the email address you provided when you created an account, and your password. You'll be taken straight to your PlanBee Account Dashboard. Click 'My Downloads' on the left. Tada! All your downloads are listed here. Click on the yellow download buttons next to their titles to download them directly.

Where can I find receipts for my purchases?

They're in your PlanBee account! If you haven't already, log in. You can login from anywhere on – just click on 'Log In' on the top right ☝︎. Enter the email address you provided when you created an account, and your password. You'll be taken straight to your PlanBee Account Dashboard. Click 'My Orders' on the left. Here, you can view and print information about your orders.

How do I change my email/name/billing address?

You can manage all of your personal details from your PlanBee Account Dashboard. If you haven't already, log in. You can log in from anywhere on – just click on 'Log In' on the top right ☝︎. Enter the email address you provided when you created an account, and your password. You'll be taken straight to your account dashboard. Click 'Account Information' (on the left) to change your name, email address or password. Click 'My Addresses' (on the left) to change your billing address*.

*Please be aware that this address is purely for generating your invoices/receipts/order information. It's not a shipping address – we NEVER send any resources by post! All PlanBee resources are downloadable.

Do you do discounts?

Yes! All of our Curriculum Packs are discounted for all members, with savings of 10-25% (compared to the cost of buying the included resources separately). Bronze, Silver and Gold members get year-round discounts on nearly all other PlanBee resources, too! Periodically, we also do special offers.  How do I apply a promo code to my order?

1. First, check that you've added the products to which the promo code applies to your basket.

2. Scroll up to the top of the page and click Basket. Select View & Edit Basket.

3. In the basket view, click the Add a Discount Code drop-down. Enter the code exactly as it is written, then click Apply.

4. Continue to checkout as usual!

Can I offer some feedback about my purchase?

I've found a mistake in a resource. What will you do about it?

We're so sorry – every PlanBee resource is proofread. However, mistakes are missed from time to time. If you find one, please do contact us to let us know straight away. We aim to correct errors and release updated, corrected versions of resources for you to re-download within 24 working hours. We'll contact you to let you know as soon as we've corrected the error you found.

I have an idea for a resource! Wanna hear it?

Brilliant! Tell us at We can’t guarantee we can make it straight away, but we'll add it to our big TO DO list. If we feel it fits particularly well with what we’re currently working on, we’ll get back to you to discuss your idea and see how we can get it made!

Can I work at PlanBee?

That’s great that you'd like to! We are still a small, but steadily growing company. Please like and follow us on Facebook and Twitter, as this is the first place we advertise vacancies. Lots of people ask if it's possible to work remotely for PlanBee – unfortunately, it's not! We've found that it's really important to be together when planning – that's why everyone who works for PlanBee comes to our Surrey offices. It's invaluable to have other teachers with you to bounce ideas around with!

I've bought the wrong thing! It's not what I wanted! What can I do?

Don't worry – we understand that these things happen. The very first thing you should do if you're in this situation is contact us. We offer refunds or exchanges, provided you have not yet downloaded the resource/s you purchased in error. You can find more in our Terms & Conditions.

When I ‘unzip’ the file, it doesn’t work and/or looks wrong.

Every now and then files do get corrupted during downloading. It’s just one of those things! Re-download a fresh copy of the file from your PlanBee account. If you are still having issues, get in touch so we can assist.

My downloads are encrypted (green) files/folders - they won't open!

There's a known issue with zip files made on an Apple Mac, when viewed using certain versions of Windows. Don't worry – we can fix it. If any PlanBee resource appears to be encrypted, or you just can't open it, please get in contact. Here's some more information about this issue (for technical wizards and network admins):

It won’t download! It won’t open! It’s all going wrong!

Here’s some tips to try straight away:

Clear your browser’s cache and history (refer to your browser’s documentation to find out how)

Ensure that your computer is fully up-to-date with the latest versions of your web browser and operating system.

Install Adobe Reader: it’s the best way to view PlanBee PDFs. You can download it for free here:

When you purchase PlanBee resources, they are available to download immediately from your PlanBee account. The files are downloaded as 'zip' files (compressed folders containing other files). These zip files need to be extracted so that the resources can be opened and viewed correctly. Most computers will do this automatically for you; Windows 8 users may find the instructions below of use:

How to extract zip files in Windows 8:

1. Open File Explorer and select the file or folder you need to decompress.

2. Under the Compressed Folder Tools tab, click Extract tab.

3. Click Extract All, then choose the location where you wish to extract the files.

Alternatively, you can extract individual files or folders, by opening the compressed folder and then drag the files or folders you want to extract to a new location.

Can I get an invoice for my purchase?

Of course! School Trade account members are emailed invoices within seven days of their purchase. Standard account members can download invoices for any of their previous purchases in their PlanBee Account Dashboard.

Where can I send my order?

Please do not send us anything! You can order everything you need online, so there is no need to send us a PO or order form.
